The Lancashire Witches Weekend returns in August 2019 to Lancaster Castle.

 

Attic Door Productions will be taking you back into Lancaster's charmed past, as Lancaster Castle presents a spellbinding weekend of enchanting family friendly events.

Come and walk with characters of the past and discover an all new tale of the notorious trials from 400 years ago. Back by popular demand, our Jailer will be granting access to those who dare to visit Demdike in the depths of the infamous Well Tower.  

 

‘The Little Witch Trail’ returns for a second year on a magical journey around the walls of the castle, filled with fun and adventure for primary age children and their families. There is something for everyone, from walks and stalls to exhibitions and interactive activities in this full weekend of witch themed wonder.

Entry to the castle courtyard is just £1 and our ticketed events are priced individually.

 

Explore the story

The Pendle Witch Walk

August 1612, twelve women and men were charged with the murders of ten people by means of witchcraft, all but two were tried at Lancaster Assizes. The Pendle Witch Walk promenade event returns with a new immersive journey to take you on, meet characters of the past and explore the story of the Lancashire Witches in the heart of its history at Lancaster Castle.

Join her in the depths

Demdike's Dungeon

Dare you enter the darkness of the infamous well tower and discover the diabolical deeds Demdike was accused of?  The Jailer opens the cell door once more, why not stay a while as she tells you the tales of her past and the circumstance of her imprisonment in this cell. Join her in the depths of Lancaster Castle for this historical re-enactment.

Adventure Awaits

The Little Witch Trail

Take a magical journey around the walls of the castle and help a dragon keeper and his friends find the ingredients for a potion of the utmost importance in order to save their pet dragon. Filled with fun and adventure this event is perfect for primary age children and their families.

Broomstick Training

Enrol in the Academy

Enrol in the Witches academy with our broomstick trainers as you take your very first tentative steps in the fine art of broomstick flying. Learn all the basics that a novice would need as you take aim for a gold star in your flying proficiency. So take to the sky and sweep away the competition to become top of the class.
